About me: From Renaissance to Reinvention

The beginning of a long journey
At age 6, I began the difficult journey of being overweight. By age 13, I was living a reality that many know all too well: obesity. The weight not only weighed on my body, but also on my morale and my daily life. I was trapped in a body that didn’t suit me, and every day was a struggle, a challenge to find my place. But it was precisely in those moments that the spark of change was born. At age 14, I decided to fight back, to refuse to remain a prisoner of this situation. At 19, after years of hard work and determination, I had completely transformed my body. But beyond the physical aspect, it was a true inner rebirth. I had discovered the power of pushing myself beyond my limits. This first “glow up,” as we call it today, marked the beginning of my passion for sports and wellness.
The call of sports and wellness
Empowered by this transformation, I pursued a simple goal: to help others improve their health, just as I had managed to do for myself. This led me to study sports education. I quickly realized that well-being is not just physical. Mental stress, which is often overlooked, also profoundly affects our quality of life. This is how I became interested in Ayurvedic massage and relaxation techniques, so that I could offer a holistic approach to those I was coaching. But despite all this, I was neglecting one person: myself.


Back to square one, only worse
The years passed, and after putting my own health aside to take care of others for nearly 20 years, the consequences of my choices hit me hard. At 40, I found myself facing a very different reality. Returning to sports at that age was not easy. Unlike when I was 14, this time the struggle was even harder. The lack of scientific information on age- and weight-related metabolic issues only added to the difficulty. Injuries were becoming more frequent, and despite my experience and knowledge, I was unable to achieve lasting results. Memories of my childhood resurfaced, but this time I had to face a new challenge: an aging, less cooperative body and a slower metabolism. Every attempt seemed doomed to failure. But it is precisely in these moments that true inner strength awakens. I realized that, as in my teens, I had to reinvent myself.
Rebirth
I had to start all over again, but this time I took a more methodical and gradual approach. I began with five minutes of exercise per day, gradually increasing the amount. This slow but steady process allowed me to see improvements. The key was to persevere, accept that transformation takes time, and recognize that every small step counts.
Then I made adjustments to my nutrition and optimized my sleep, incorporating natural supplements. Little by little, the results became apparent. Not only did I lose weight, but I rediscovered an inner strength that I had forgotten.


The balance found
Finally, after a first year of perseverance, I had lost 58 Lb. Although I hadn’t reached my fat mass goal, I had exceeded my weight goal, reaching 165 lb. This phase taught me that maintenance is also a challenge in itself. I had to adapt my training and calorie intake to maintain my results. Today, after a second 6-week cutting phase, I live in a sustainable balance, aware that the fight against obesity never really ends, but that it is possible to find harmony between body and mind. I weigh 160 lb and feel good in my body and mind.
